This song is probably arguably one of the more stylish songs on the album, lacking our trademark wonky-ness, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It is also one of the four tracks we have chosen to push to radio stations!
lyrics
Trapped in little boxes place to place
And only one thing keeps that smile on her face
Cold containers rush us here to there
This place is great but we're just not happy anywhere
It walks, and it walks, and it walks away from me
And it pushes away all the things that I've been investing
In the person who's now set aside to a place where I am not
Hear that Chicago din, rumbling, swaying in the wind
This time the dirty side wins, as the rain falls down
This love that I let in has burst out flowing
And it's filthy as the rain, I can feel my toes going
Out come the cameras, things are getting stale
You know a hundred photos can tell some untrue tales
We're all growing, we are all young
But there are so many hopeful futures yet to be sung
It walks, and it walks, and it walks away from me
And it pushes away all the things that I've been investing
But I know it's a natural thing, I'll step forward, I'll let go
Hear that Chicago din, rumbling swaying with the wind
Sometimes the shallow end gets the best of us
But you won't let a feeling win, 'cause your God is with you
You'll be clean after the rain, I can feel our fears going away
I'm glad I've spoken up, when I let it fester, then I forget
That God is on the move, and he always was
I can see a bit better now
Of course emotions will always pull
But I wont face them on my own
On a stoop out in the rain
On a stoop out in the rain...
